Superposition Theorem statement: When two or more sources are present in the dc linear circuit, the response in any element of network can be calculated by taking the sum of responses produced at the element by the individual sources acting alone. At a time only one source is connected to the circuit.
Voltage sources are short circuited and current sources are open circuited.

Circuit shown in figure has two sources, one voltage source and one current source. When voltage source works in the circuit, the current source gets open circuited. When current source acts in the circuit than the voltage source gets short circuited.
